Fairfax County Public Schools are at a crossroads. We’ve made real progress: stronger academics, safer schools, and historic gains for teachers and staff, but new challenges demand steady, progressive leadership. I'm running for School Board to protect and strengthen our schools by listening to teachers, families, and students. I'll never stop fighting for our kids to have an excellent, equitable, and inclusive education that prepares them for their future, not our past.
Meet Tom Dannan
I grew up in a family that understood the power of public education. My mom was an educator, whose union job kept our family afloat through tough times. After college, I joined the Peace Corps and worked as a substitute teacher before settling in Braddock.
Like many of us, my wife and I moved here because of the amazing public schools. We are now the proud parents of two amazing FCPS students. I'm a former PTA President and small business owner, with a track record of bringing people together to solve problems and get results. That's why I'm running for School Board--to support teachers, strengthen public education, and make sure every student in Fairfax County has an opportunity to reach their full potential.
